The group who is running the challenge came by at lunch to explain the nitty gritty details of the contest. Basically we need to log in our fruit/veggie intake for the day (5 servings/day) and try to get in at least 30 mins of moderate exercise, 5x/week. I don't think I'll have any problems with the fruit/veggie intake. Well...maybe the veggie intake. I don't care too much for salads. However, if that is what it will take to lose weight (and better yet, win MOOLAH! ka-ching!) then I will eat the stupid tomato that was in my salad today. :)
After work, I usually catch a bus downtown and then catch another bus there home. Today I decided to walk all the way to the bus stop downtown instead. According to Google Earth, the distance was 1.01 miles. Instead of catching the bus that drops me off about a block from home, I decided to get off at the bottom of the dreaded "Hill" and walk all the way home...most of which is UPHILL for 1.03 miles. Check out what I plan to be my M/W/F journey:

YOU GO GIRL. That's a massive hill. Makes me tired just looking at the picture. I want to lose a total of 40 lb's, but for the challenge I plan to lose 20 lb's. At least with the lower goal I can feel good about reaching something and have motivation to move to the next 20 lbs.
You're changes are really motivating and I hope to do some walking myself. I've been taking the kids after dinner on my double stroller and going for about 45 minutes around the neighborhood. There are some hills but not as bad as yours. Keep it up!! You can do it.
Thanks! My short term goal is to lose 10 lbs. Even if I lose 10, I'll be happy. I think my body is detoxing from 1) eating clean and 2) drinking a lot of water. I know I've probably lost some weight since Sunday (yeah, I should've started tomorrow) but I've got a lot to lose so I needed to start earlier. :) I hope we can all motivate and help each other to make healthier choices and be more active.
